Woodpecker Lodge - Bride - I stayed at Woodpecker Lodge in June 2011 for my wedding at Hestercombe Gardens in Taunton.The lodge was absolutely amazing and had everything we could of wished for and more. The owner/manager Chris is amazing and nothing was too much trouble including putting up a full length mirror in Woodpecker before our arrival and decorating our lodge with balloons for when we returned as a married couple. The lodge was absolutely perfect for getting ready on the morning of the wedding and it was so special to have enough room for my bridesmaids and mum to get ready with me. Our photographer was in awe of all of the photo opportunities inside and outside of the lodge and our hair and make up artist also commented on how amazing the place was for wedding preparations. The location is beautiful and the tranquil surroundings definitely calmed me down on the day. The facilities in the lodges are first class and Woodpecker even had a sauna which was a lovely touch. On arrival there was a welcome pack of homemade cookies and local apple juice as well as tea and coffee. One of the extra special features of staying here was that my family and my husbands family stayed in another two of the lodges so everyone was nearby. All of my family also loved staying here and especially enjoyed the onsite lake for fishing and cycle rides in the local area. The only downside to our stay was that as we were getting married we were very busy and we would have loved more time there to enjoy the setting so I cant wait to come back! Thanks Chris and your family for being so hospitable and going out of your way to make it such a special stay for us.

Kingfisher Eco Lodge - May 2011 - We came from far and wide (USA) to Mill Meadow, and we found it to be absolutely the best place to stay! From the beautiful wood to teh comfy kitchen, baths and bedrooms this was a wonderful place to stay and made our trip really special. We will definately be returning. B & C New York USA

Kingfisher Eco Lodge - June 2011 - What a great place. We have all enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation is first class. Chris and his family have all been extremely helpful from the welcoming homemade cake to the advice given to our daughter to make her fishing experience even better. Woodpecker Eco Lodge - May 2011 - A peaceful location and with the jetlag enjoyed listening to the birds at 5 am each day. Ideal for access to Taunton and surrounding areas for touring. Good eats are "The Farmers Arms" and "The Rising Sun". Some short 30 min walks from the cottage take you over the hills...ask Chris for the map! Try the fishing in the lake great fun for the kids.
